My name is Georgia, and here is where I share my creations from the nerdy to the artsy. Currently, I am working towards finding my artistic vision through various printmaking methods. My goal is to make my art accessible to as many people as possible. For that reason, I have taken to making postcards and greeting cards with my artwork as a way to have my artwork shared for many to see. I take inspiration from many areas of my life, with the largest contributor being my degree in Mathematical Physics and my interest in science.

This website is a portfolio of all my skills, from the website itself, as it is coded entirely by myself, to the art I have created. The name of my website is in reference to the Poynting vector, which describes the flow of energy. This is often used in electromagnetic theory to describe the flow of energy with regard to light. The direction of this vector is found using the cross product of the electric field and the magnetic field. To know the direction quickly without writing anything down, one might use the right-hand rule as depicted in the logo of this website.

If you have ever worked in a card store one thing that you will learn is everyone wants a floral card. Especially since a floral card can be used for any occasion. So I wondered how I would like to make a floral card. That is when I remembered the printmaking method, cyanotype, which I had been wanting to experiment with. To make my cards I use photographs I had taken of flowers to use as negatives and make cyanotype prints to go on each card. Making every card a unique mini print.

I love sending my art in the mail to my friends and to strangers. It brings me joy to know someone is going to recive something that will bring a smile to their face. If you yourself don't make art, then picking out the perfect greeting card can do that just as well. This has inspired me to make these illustrated cards that can be perfect for showing your friend you care and bring a smile to their face with something they can hold.

Before I returned to focusing on creating artwork, I spent four years completing a physics degree. There, I met many amazing people who have also gone on to do many amazing things. One of my best friends went on to do research with MRIs and was showing the scan of their brain that they had done. So I asked if I could have their brain scan and found myself using it to help me create one of my favourite pieces of mine to come out of my screen printing class.
